In part 2 of Corflex Operable Partitions, we will be looking at the advantages of Glass Walls and the different types available. If you would like to know about Standard Operable Partitions, click HERE to read Part 1.
Combining aesthetics and functionality to improve the design of your space is no easy task. Corflex clearly meets this challenge by offering you a glass wall system that harmonises perfectly with your space and combines aesthetics and functionality in total elegance.
Glass walls are the perfect solution to improve the design of conference rooms, offices, store fronts, restaurants, airports, and every other space that needs a physical separation without a physical barrier.
Types of Glass Wall
Frameless Glass Wall – G600 Series:
Create a barrier free view of your space thanks to Corflex frameless glass walls. Offered in individual (G601) or paired panel assemblies (G602), they can be moved manually with ease! Top and bottom shoes are available in clear or tinted anodized aluminium with stainless steel cladding or in your choice of powdercoat paint color.
Made of 12 mm (1/2″) tempered glass, the G600 series glass walls have no floor track, thus eliminating tripping hazards and debris accumulation.
Intermediate and pivot doors are available in full height glass panels, with optional door closures available for pivot doors to facilitate access to your space. Choose a glass wall that is laminated, etched, tinted, or with a translucent film when you want to add style or raise your room’s intimacy level.
Best For: Offices, Storefronts, Restaurants, Shopping Centres, Art Galleries, Schools
Acoustical Glass Wall – G700 Series:
Give yourself a sound barrier without any visual barrier! When a physical separation is required, Corflex acoustical glass walls are the ideal solution to improve the acoustical performance of your space, while maximising the influx of natural light. Offered in single (G701) or paired panel assemblies (G702), they can be moved manually with ease.
The G700 Series acoustical glass walls are made of either a tempered, double glazed sealed unit or monolithic tempered glass in a clear anodized or powder coated aluminium frame. Fully supported by an overhead track, the partition has no floor track, thus eliminating tripping hazards and debris accumulation.
Optional hinged doors at one end of the wall or intermediate pass doors are available in full height glass to facilitate access to your space. Panic bars are also available. This product allows you to mix fixed and operable panels, offering flexibility in terms of dimensions and position of glass panels.
Best For: Offices, Schools, Conference Rooms
Other Glass Walls Available:
Parallel Stacking Glass Walls – G600P Series:
Corflex has introduced the new Parallel Stacking operable glass wall system. No other partition is simpler to handle thanks to the absence of intersecting tracks. Especially designed for commercial applications, the G600P glass wall will be particularly useful for wide openings such as storefronts.
Best For: Storefronts, Restaurants, Shopping Centres
Motorized Operable Glass Walls – G600M Series:
Joined together, the panels move in a straight line from wall to wall with the simple activation of the electric motor. A special design adapted to secure environments prevents documents from moving from one side of the partition to the other.
Best For: Airports, Other High Security Areas
Timber Framed Glass Walls – G800 Series:
Offered in single (G801) or paired panel assemblies (G802), Timber Framed glass walls will enhance the natural design of your environment. The triple lamination cross grain construction ensures that frames will be durable. Invite the natural beauty of wood into your projects by choosing one of four standard wood species; Oak, Maple, Cherry, or Douglas Fir
Best For: Conference Rooms, Presidential Offices, Museums, Universities
Customization
While there aren’t as many customisation options with a Glass Wall as there is with a Standard Operable Partition, there are still ways to make your Glass Wall suit your situation and building design.
With any of Corflex’s glass walls, you can add etching, tint, or a translucent film to add a bit of privacy or style. You can also choose between an anodized finish or a powder coated finish in your choice of color for the framework (excludes Timber Framed).
If you need to go from one side of the wall to the other without opening the whole wall, you can add a pass through door with an optional panic bar.
